Passenger Year is the innovative music project of TJ Whiting, born out of the legacy of the Orlando-based band EINSTEIN! in 2024. Whiting, known for his creative blending of acoustic and electronic styles, set out to create a sound that breaks boundaries, pulling from a wide range of influences while staying true to his roots. The debut EP, Think What You Think, is a testament to this genre-fluid approach, offering listeners a captivating mix of warm acoustic melodies and textured electronic beats. The EP was recorded over two years, with sessions taking place in both Norfolk, England, and Kansas City, Missouri, a journey that reflects the eclectic, global nature of the project.
The production was taken to another level with mixing by Gothenburg-based producer David Johansson, whose experience adds depth and polish to the EP’s soundscapes. Final mastering was handled by John Naclerio, a name familiar to fans of Just Surrender, The Audition, and Senses Fail, ensuring the EP’s emotional impact is finely tuned. Spanning just over ten minutes, Think What You Think delivers a sequence of pleasant surprises, with each track offering its own unique blend of introspective lyrics, acoustic warmth, and electronic experimentation.
Fans of acoustic-electronic fusion will find Passenger Year’s debut an essential, repeat listen—an invitation to sit back, reflect, and truly experience the music.
